Why are we so afraid of silence?
Why must we fill up silence with incessant talking? Talking at each other, talking over each other, not pausing to listen, not even pausing to breathe comfortably between words.
Are words the only way to establish a bridge between us?
I have this beautiful urge to have a silent gathering. To have meetings that are not interrupted by words.
I feel that conversations without words would probably be absolutely authentic and honest, with no words to mask or divert from what our energy is actually wanting to communicate.
I do love words. I love the beauty of words, of voices. I love hearing loved ones speak. I love speaking words that help connect me to my loved ones.
But sometimes, like today, I prefer the silence.
Silence absent of well-meaning words, but full of feeling, full of honesty, full of love.
